Thanks to James and Cecelia Blackie for their purchase of my yearling ram, Saulsbrook 113Y.  Their purchase was the sale topper, $1025, at the NS Sheep Breeders Sale 2012.

Ewe 662U had a set of twin ram lambs on December 9th!  The sire is 064X! Both little guys were up and sucking on their own. The funny thing about this ewe, she lambed on the exact same day last year. Her ram lamb last year had the highest 100-day adjusted weight (of 145 lbs) of any lambs we have ever tested. We do not expect any more sheep to lamb until mid-March when our artificially inseminated ewes are due. The sire of the AI crop is British ram, Bentley Figurine.
Also, we are sold out of yearling rams for this year.

We had a great sale this year. Met lots of interesting people everyone's stock looked good.  We had private sales to two New Brunswick breeders, James Blackie and The Booths.  James bought a top ram from Bentley Figurine from this year's crop.  The Booths bought a ewe lamb by Hall Hill Edinburgh. Both these were from the AI breeding from last fall.

I know it's been a while since my last post, but had a busy winter here on the farm! We're finished lambing now and got some really nice looking lambs this year.  I've added some new pics to the lamb page.  Have a look or send me an email if you're interested in any. Thanks!

The AI went great. Looking forward to the offspring it will produce. Thanks to Ileana, Judy, Brad, Edwin, Adam, and Jack for all your hard work!

On October 13 we are scheduled to artificially inseminate our ewes with semen from three British rams- Savernake Solid Muscle, Bentley Figurine, & Hall Hill Edinburgh.  It will be a busy day!
